    The Profile

    The Profile

Introducing Agua Limpa, a classic Brazilian coffee that offers a rich, full-bodied drinking experience.

This coffee boasts quintessential Brazilian notes. Milk chocolate is complemented by the buttery richness of pecan and the deep, caramelised sweetness of brown sugar. What sets this coffee apart from other Brazilians is the quality of the coffee and the processing. This allows these classic notes to really shine through and give this coffee fantastic clarity.

Agua Limpa is the perfect choice for those who appreciate a well rounded, full bodied low acidity Brazilian coffee.

    The Producer

    The Producer

Francisco Sergio de Assis leads this successful family business, embodying its rich heritage. Hailing from Parana State, Francisco has coffee in his blood. In the 70s, he witnessed the near disappearance of the coffee culture due to frost damage. After marrying, he relocated to Cerrado and partnered with his father-in-law, Nissei, to grow their coffee business. Nissei foresaw Cerrado becoming a key coffee-growing region due to its ideal flat lands, altitude, and climate. The area’s distinct seasons—hot, wet summers and dry, warm winters—create perfect conditions for high-quality beans. The flat terrain facilitates full mechanical farming, enhancing business scalability.

“At Fazenda Agua Limpa, our coffee is fully traceable to the individual coffee plot, and we take pride in our responsible production model.”

The group has heavily invested in quality, technology, irrigation systems, and best agricultural practices, resulting in rapid growth and exceptional cup performance. Although they have diversified into other crops, coffee remains their core business, with approximately 1,100 hectares of planted area at Fazenda Água Limpa. The farm’s special microclimate and altitude contribute to their top-quality coffee.

    • Wholesale

We are always looking to work with likeminded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
