The Rocket Story
Ennio Berti, after leaving a major Italian espresso machine manufacturer in the early 1980s, aimed to create a domestic espresso machine using commercial components.
Partnering with Fredrich Berenbruch, they founded Espresso Company Milano (ECM), known for the Cellini and Giotto designs. In the late 1990s, ECM collaborated with New Zealanders Jeff Kennedy and Andrew Meo, introducing the E61 Rocket to New Zealand. By 2007, ECM shifted focus to commercial machines, allowing Kennedy to perfect the household espresso machine, forming Rocket Espresso Milano.
Today, Rocket blends Italian engineering heritage with the passion of two cycle-obsessed Kiwis.Rocket Espresso Milano are one of the best pro-sumer espresso brands in the world, combining classic Italian design with the latest in style and technology.
