What is the Svart B?

The Svart WG grinder (v0.1) from Wilfa (Norway) was developed between Wilfa & Tim Wendelboe - a man who knows coffee, and whose opinions are widely respected in the speciality coffee industry.

This is the original version of the Svart that comes in Silver. It is around £30 less than the Black version. It has a slightly faster motor than the Black version, so is arguably hotter when grinding. At this level, this is a very small difference and does not cause any major difference in grind quality. Other than this, the construction and design is exactly the same.

Who's it suited to?

The Wilfa Svart is a perfect option for anyone looking for a low-volume filter grinder to use at home or in the office without breaking the bank. It can grind for a wide variety of brew methods - stovetop, Aeropress, filter/drip coffee machines, Cafetiere, V60, Chemex and most others. (Not espresso though.)

Is it any good?

For a burr grinder at under £100, it is by far the best option on the market right now. It's a simple but very effective stepped adjustment grinder that delivers exceptional grind quality for the money. It is also well-built, easy to use and clean. We have tested many domestic grinders and this is by far the best at this price point.

The domestic electric grinder conundrum:

Domestic electric grinders are a difficult one, with cheap low-volume units (Bodum, Dualit, etc) producing poor grind quality, while higher price point grinders (£150+) are a step too far for many and don't produce exceptional grind either.
