Vox Pop is our 2nd house espresso blend and means

Vox Pop is our 2nd house espresso blend and means "voice of the people"

Vox Pop is our 2nd house espresso blend AKA our secret weapon.

This blend was created for those who enjoy traditional 1st wave (Italian) espresso, preferring something that gives them the key characteristics such as a super heavy body, thick syrupy texture and huge crema.

Unlike traditional 1st wave coffee, which typically uses a mix of lower grade central American & Indonesian coffees alongside varying forms of robusta, we only use high grade speciality components.

In terms of actual profile, it has a rich viscous body that cuts through milk with ease, intense spicy notes, and lots of molasses sweetness.

We brewed this on a La Marzocco Linea Classic, set to 95c - with a recipe of 17g IN / 34g OUT / 30 secs.

Producer #1: Mandheling (Permata Gayo Co-Op), Sumatra

    Producer #2: Cachoeiras, Brazil

Varietals: Catimor, Typica | Catuaí, Mundo Novo, Acaia, Rubi, Catucai, Topazio

    Elevation(s): 1400 & 900 MASL

Recommended Brewing: Espresso, Cafetiere, Moka Pot, Aeropress and Drip Machine

    Weight: 250g / 1kg / 2kg

    • Wholesale

We are always looking to work with likeminded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
