Meet our Wholesale Accounts Manager & Trainer, Tash! From high-volume beginnings to shaping how our coffee shows up in cafes across the country, Tash brings focus and a contagious passion for specialty coffee to everything she does. She balances detail with hands on craft, supporting our partners, sharpening skills, and making sure every cup reflects what Machina stands for.

Hi Tash! Tell us a bit about yourself, your journey in coffee, and what you get up to day-to-day at Machina.
I started in coffee 14 years ago churning out high volume dark roast like my life depended on it. I moved towards speciality coffee as it began to emerge in Edinburgh. I never planned to stay in the industry, but it has its way of gripping you.
As the wholesale accounts manager and trainer at Machina, no two days look the same. I split my time between working with our wholesale partners and processing their orders. One moment I’m in a spreadsheet and the next I’m behind a bar dialling in shots, talking extraction, and making sure our coffee is exactly served as it should be.
What part of your work do you enjoy the most?
Training. I love seeing people get curious and watching interest spark when they realise speciality coffee involves more than throwing beans into a machine and hoping for the best. It’s especially rewarding seeing baristas shift their mindset and really apply themselves to improving their skills and knowledge.
If you could only drink coffee from one region for the rest of your life, where would you choose and why?
Africa, hands down. I love complexity, acidity and floral notes.
Where do you spend time when you're not at Machina?
If I’m not at Machina, you’ll probably find me up a hill with Hugo, my very handsome son.
What coffee are you drinking at the moment?
I’ve developed an unusual obsession with ASOPROAAA recently. It’s a super sweet and balanced black honey Costa Rican. It’s not my usual African pick, but it’s very easy to drink and still has lovely complexity.
If you could switch roles with anyone at Machina for a day, who would it be and why?
Probably Pete from our technical service team. I’d love to spend the day fixing machines with Michael and learning from his wealth of knowledge.
