Kit Review - Moccamaster KBG Coffee Brewer

For a while now, we’ve been searching for a really good quality coffee brewer that doesn’t break the bank and, with the Moccamaster KBG, we think we may have found it. The Moccamaster is a traditional filter coffee machine, produced by Technivorm in the Netherlands. In a crowded market, it's probably the best domestic coffee brewer out there both in terms of build quality and functionality. We gave it a test run to see what all the fuss is about.

The Moccamaster KBG is reassuringly heavy with a body casing produced from aluminium. The design is simple and very easy to use, but does the key things well: brews at a stable temperature with an even distribution of water over the coffee bed. Those are the features you need at this level, anything more and the price goes up without any real benefits. On another note, this machine is so easy to clean and, thanks to the automatic drip stop system, won't drip all over the place.

The Moccamaster is essentially for anyone who wants to brew great coffee either at home or in the office with minimal fuss. Simply fill with water, put ground coffee in the basket and off you go. They also come in a wide range of colour options that will sit nicely together with our Inker cup range.
