    The Profile

    The Profile

Tambaya is a truly exceptional Kenyan, exemplifying why this origin has such a profound reputation for producing the best coffee going.

Intensely layered, and overflowing with gorgeous flavours. A crème brûlée sweetness, a rich, developed ripe blackberry raspberry acidity, and a soft aromatic floral note merge to bring forth a delightful complexity. With a deep, developed sugar, fruity middle and floral top this coffee is a complete package. Best served black with time on your hands, this is one you're going to want to give your full attention to.

    The Producers

    The Producers

Tambaya is named for the wet mill that processes the coffee cherries, and is one of a few wet mills of the Rumukia Farmers' Co-operative Society. It's common to drink coffee from regional lots in Kenya, as producers often need to pool their harvests to collectively process at mills in order to produce enough to export.

The producers that make up the Rumukia Farmers' Co-operative Society farm on the slopes of Mount Kenya, producing coffees known for their intensity, complexity and flavour density. Over half of Kenya's coffee is grown by smallholder farmers, each with around one to two hectares of land, often growing multiple crops with fewer than 100 coffee trees in total.

    • Wholesale

We are always looking to work with like-minded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on  roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
