Our first Peru of 2022

-
Description
San Martin de Pangoa is a washed coffee from Peru - our first from this origin in 2022. It's accessible, but not boring, with a present but soft red apple acidity that pairs nicely with a caramel sweetness. In terms of body, it's neither heavy nor light, and will taste delicious pulled as espresso or infused in a cafetière.
Tasting notes:
RASPBERRY / PECAN / MILK CHOCOLATE
How you can brew this coffee:
Espresso, Cafetiere, Stove Top (Moka Pot), Aeropress and Drip Machine (Moccamaster, Wilfa Classic etc). The Origin:
Peru is one of the world's biggest producers of coffee, and one of the leading growers of certified coffees. Junín in particular accounts for around a quarter of the country's total production, where coffee grows in rainforest landscapes east of the Andes. Coffees grown in Peru are generally considered to offer accessible profiles, and for this reason are often used in blends. However, we liked the taste of this one so much we felt it deserved billing as a single origin in its own right.
Processing:
Peru is well known for producing traditionally cultivated, shade-grown Arabica that is processed in artisanal wet-mill operations. Only fully ripe cherries are harvested manually and milled with a hand pulper. Coffee is then fermented in small tanks and dried on patios.
-------
Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point of 10-36 days). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using.
