    The Profile

    The Profile

Murambi Hill is a superb washed coffee out of Burundi.

It exhibits a fantastic range of flavours, each with considerable depth - the star of the show however is its syrupy, fruity sweetness which goes above and beyond to hold this coffee together. Notes of red fruits dominate the cup, but the acidity remains soft and subtle in the background. Juicy and refreshing, with a lingering aftertaste. You could mistake it for a Kenyan.

    The Producers

Murambi Hill is a community lot processed by Migoti Coffee Company in Bujumbura, Burundi.

Migoti Coffee are a major processing partner in the region, owned by local engineers Dan Brose and Pontien Ntunzwenimana. Seeing an opportunity to reinvigorate a stagnated coffee economy, the two built Migoti Washing Station in 2016 at Migoti Mountain. Fast forward to today, the station processes over 300 tonnes of coffee each year, becoming something of a name for producing some of the finest speciality coffee in Burundi.

We are always looking to work with like-minded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on  roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
