    The Profile

    The Profile

Miravalle is a fantastic single estate from El Salvador.

A wonderfully velvety coffee, its flavour profile is vastly driven by the combination of varietals in the crop. Bourbon is key, providing a real depth of flavour, in particular yellow fruits and caramelisation. Marsellesa lifts the cup's acidity and sweet fruit notes. Pacas, being a natural mutation of Bourbon, further enhances the smooth and rounded character of this coffee.

    The Producers

    The Producers

Finca Miravalle is headed up by Dr Jaime Riera Menendez, a gastroenterological M.D. by trade. Coffee has been in his family for three generations, his parents instilling upon him his own love of coffee. Following the eruption of the Santa Ana volcano in 2005 it has been difficult to find people to work on the farm, due to migration away from the area. Only two people live on the farm itself: Francisco Recinos, the manager, and his wife. However at harvest the farm employs around seventy people from the surrounding areas, paying them almost 40% above the legal wage.

    • Wholesale

We are always looking to work with likeminded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
