Coffee that makes a difference.

-
Description
Coffee that makes a difference.
ISMAM, or Indígenas De La Sierra Madre De Motozintla San Isidro Labrador, are a group of smallholder farmers from Chiapas, an area of Mexico susceptible to dangerously low production yields and high rates of poverty.
Our importer, Raw Material, exist to make a meaningful difference to these farmers' lives, by paying upwards of the standard market price, injecting a rapid return on investment for the producers, and returning 100% of the profits to the producers.
Their long term goal is in assisting in the improvement of production yields and stabilising the standard market prices. Further to this, ISMAM coffee is grown sustainably and certified organic. A truly important coffee.
Flavour wise, ISMAM is a total crowd-pleaser. Rich, but not too decadent, creamy, sweet, and can be brewed any which way you like - be that as espresso, flat white, cafetiere, topped up with a bit of milk, or served black.
We originally sourced this coffee for the 2021 festive period, choosing beans that would make a truly positive impact on the lives of the producers. We were blown away by how popular this single origin was, and have brought it back for 2022 (with a less glitzy label, though the option is there if you want it!).
Tasting notes:
HAZELNUTS / CARAMEL / MANGO / NUTMEG
How you can brew this coffee:
Espresso, Cafetière, Stove Top (Moka Pot), Aeropress and Drip Machine (Moccamaster, Wilfa Classic etc).
Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point of 10-36 days). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using.
