    The Coffee

    The Coffee

Kigari is an exceptional washed Kenyan, which whilst being classic in profile, offers amazing depth and complexity.

In the cup you will find a dense rhubarb like body, perfectly balanced by the sweet, fruity flavour of ripe raspberries.

This is all held together with an ultra smooth and silky mouthfeel, reminiscent of a well processed Merlot wine.

Scoring 88 on the cupping table, it punches.

    The Farmers / Co-Op

Kigari Teachers College takes pride in producing outstanding coffee, utilising the ecologically friendly Penagos ecopulper to process the cherries. Their two-year-old factory complements this technology, ensuring the highest quality coffee.

Beyond this, they ingeniously uses cow manure to create organic fertiliser, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable agriculture.

Embracing innovation and sustainability, the college actively promotes young talent in the coffee industry, fostering a new generation of coffee enthusiasts and professionals.

    • Wholesale

We are always looking to work with likeminded businesses to serve our coffee.

If you're interested in serving this locally roasted Edinburgh coffee as your main offering, a guest appearance or as bags of retail, get in touch with us on roastery@machina-coffee.co.uk or call (0131) 656 9565.

    • Roasting Schedule

Your coffee will be roasted within 1-16 days of purchase, with a shelf life of 6 weeks (optimum serving point at 12-36 days old). We recommend letting this coffee rest for at least 12 days before using, in order to release excess gas which can impact the flavour of your cup.

If you would like your coffee fresh, please leave a note with your order and we will do our best to accommodate.
